Do I really want to write a poem? Is there really any option? If I don't Thoughts will spin Round and round Hitting the insides of my head If I lay my head down upon a pillow They will color my dreams When morning comes I will awake to find They are lying upon my lips Waiting still To be dipped in ink And scrolled across a page Words they have a life of their own I know they will never let me be So its useless for me to flee I'll just keep surrendering to their power As long my fingers have enough energy to stroke the keys |

Lovely friend; Spoken with the heart of a gifted poet! Hugs, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

!!WHEW!! I thought I was the only one whose poetic tendencies were a bit haunting, daunting , and rather troublesome at times Kudos Sol " The question shouldn't be...'Why are we here?' but rather 'ARE we here? " |

I agree with your sentiments. I have a poem somewhere that I wrote on this very subject. Love, Joyce |

Songbird: This really strikes a responsive chord in me. Sometimes I will lie in bed and fight to stay there, knowing all the while, I am going to have to get up and write! I enjoyed the poem. Betty Lou Hebert |
