Walking in Snow

I took my children by the hand
And we explored a wonderland.
To walk in snow is a delight,
But only if you're dressed just right!
In heavy coat and winter clothes,
A scarf to cover up your nose.
Warm mittens so your hands won't freeze
And boots that come up to your knees!
A hat to pull down on your head.
The one I wear is cherry red!

Now you are ready, so let's go
Out to enjoy the waiting snow.
It is a fairyland of white
With not a print to mar the sight,
Until our footprints leave behind
A trail for other folks to find.
I love the crunchy sounds we hear.
The air is crisp and cold and clear.
We'll walk awhile and then conspire
For hot chocolate, by the fire!

This made me cold reading it.  It has been a long time since I walked in the snow.  You brought it all back.  Love, Joyce

Dear Joyce:

I don't walk much in snow anymore either! Just to fetch the papers and then later the mail and to feed the deer in our back yard! Only too glad to get back inside where it's warm!

Dear Marge:

Ronnie says "hi" and he is doing okay. Got his stitches out yesterday so think that helps.

Thanks for making that hot chocolate!

Dear Betty Lou

I'm sitting here in front of the computer and it is 100 degrees Fahrenheit!  The humidity doesn't help either!  It may be cold where you are but I sure would appreciate some snow right now.......Eh! Eh!

I just loved this poem of yours!

Love Verbena xo

Excellent - we do not get snow where I am and it is really hot - so the relief from the weather was found in the poem ---- if only it were cold again!!
