Last year was the year The sky let loose it’s hail Pounding with stinging pain upon My sensitive skin It beat on for what seemed an eternity of hours The piercing coldness soon Turned my being into a pillar of numbness Not a ray of sunshine could I feel Nor even a hopeful breeze I lived a day to day existenence Loving thoughts became a distant memory You were still here when I told you my feelings of love for you had Died out I told you how miserable it felt to feel not even a slight fluttering of My heart for you You told me there’s just some people who can’t ever forgive And I must be one of them No I said it is not that I can not forgive It is I cannot feel love I still care about you I don’t want you to leave But I feel like we need to start all over again You’re going to have to court me. Hope I's not sharing too much, but maybe someone can relate. |
