Prayers and Tears

The world has stopped today
To mourn a saintly man.
He lived and died in you, Lord
Served you as few men can.

Billions of prayers are offered;
Ten billion tears are shed.
It is so hard to comprehend
Their Father figure dead.

We know this day in Heaven
Is a red letter day.
Once in each generation
Does one such come your way.
