The End The Great Spirit has spoken, I have heard him on the wind as it moves through the trees, and I have understood that my time in the life cycle is moving rapidly into the realm of death. I appear to have done so little here, although I have led my tribe agreeably into a peaceful circumstance with the white man. Maybe that is what I was meant to achieve…and so I have fulfilled well my task. The sun has set on yet another day, and although I hunger for the companionship of the howling wolves, I am in commune with myself and Spirit. I am a mighty warrior, honored chief, brave on the field of battle, and scarred from many conflicts, hitherto I have shown no fright. And yet! It is most solitary here as I sit within the center of my world, the night sky enhances the silence that wholly surrounds me. It is within these hours of darkness that I will enter inside of myself, to walk into my nightmares and face my worst enemy…fear. I have marked well my face with the paint of war, that I am prepared to meet and overcome my adversary, I will pass with honor and pride. Life is a circle entwined in a partnership with death, I will travel on the wind… listen for me. |

This is a lovely poem, written in your own empathetic style. So glad to see you here. Please stay. Love, Joyce |

Life is a circle entwined in a partnership with death, I will travel on the wind… listen for me. *shivers* A very beautiful poem about someone accepting death...Those last lines are fabulous. Your time is here. Take one last look at it, then never come back. This part of your life is already over... |
