I used to think
the world was a golden place
where Everybody was kind and good
and the trees were always green

My young mind
Deluded as it was
Could not begin to comprehend
Things as the really are

My vision is clearer now
Time has taught me
The world is not so golden
and trees arent always green

Harsh lessons I have learned
Blackened though my heart became
Kind words and good intentions
Left me, just a little jaded

The world is what we make of it. Of course it is hard to remember this when it seems everything is not going our way.

Yeah, you're right, when you look closely at reality, it IS all crap, isn't it..

joking.. well done. I think it seemed to finish a little suddenly though, perhaps because you spent a little time explaining what your 'deluded mind' believed, and almost no time at all to explain why you changed your mind, other than the world isn't golden, and the trees aren't always green..

Wesley the Blue, I can identify with this piece and I must say I am impressed with the
last line. See the world for what it is, but don't forget to notice that there is good out there, it's just sometimes hard to locate. Thanks for sharing.
