Tiny Visitor My Suzy saw the little quail before I did, I saw her tail give that first predatory swish. The quail saw too and with a rush found haven in some nearby brush. I wonder why she risked her neck by venturing upon my deck to let my big dog find her there. She'd been feeding on the fallen fruit which offered protein bugs to boot. Was she lonesome for some company and looking for a friend in me? I'm sorry Suzy spoiled her plan. I could have been a friend to her; Suzy thinks my only friend wears fur. I'll lock the dog inside a spell and go out there to wish her well. The fallen fruit's a welcome mat. I know she does not plan to stay, she just stopped by to make my day. Where she came from and where she'll go is something I can't hope to know. By Joyce 9/12/04 |

Dear Joyce: I know how much you will enjoy the little quail. We have so many of them around here and I love them. They feed in our yard all winter long. (we feed them I have to confess) I can't bear the thought of them going hungry. Enjoy! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Dear Joyce, I loved your poem about the little quail. I have to admit I haven't seen any in years. But if I had, I would have done the same. Love, Patricia 'When you find a dream within your heart, don't ever let it go. |

Thanks Friends. It is a mystery because I have nothing but worked fields around me and they like the prairie land. Love, Joyce |
