Beloved (This poem is dedicated to a woman I've loved since December of 2002. She was a friend I developed feelings for during my freshman year of college. I'm in ROTC, hence the military reference.) ~ ~ ~ ~ God gave you a little more thought. This truly is no load of rot. Beauty abounds in thee, within and without. In all of creation, no one lovlier about. Her hair is a lustrous chestnut shade. Worn short, it brings out eyes in Heaven made. Her figure is slim and pleasing to the eye. Her smile can soothe and stop an infant's cry. The envy of Aphrodite and Artemis is she. If not to all, at least to me. Her kind manner, most beautiful of all. Kind to all manner of men, great and small. Rich and deep, a lovely shade of brown. Her eyes can easily reverse a frown. So loving, friendly and warm hearted is she. Thinking of her can set a soul free. Marching through the field, the sun always shone. Despite the pounding rain, soaking to the bone. The sun shone brightly in my heart and mind's eye. Thinking of her warm, caring way by and by. Sadly my beloved is seeing another man. I attest as only the broken hearted can. Sadly I can only love her from afar now. As through dark waters guide my ship's prow. Beloved you are, may the sun forever glow. In evergreen fields and the stream's flow. May you know nothing of sadness or strife. It's time for me to, "Have a nice life." |

this is beautiful as always for her.... if she ever read any of your work she would realise what she is missing..... hope she does realise wat shes missin good to see a new post from ya... Ruth live life as if your going to die tomorow....... but love as if your going to live forever...... |
