Tis birthday time for my baby
she won't tell me how many...
Maybe afraid of the fire hazard
with all those candles flaming?

Well now, she's whacking on me
as she reads my little ole joke.
So excuse me for a moment or two
while i grab my protective gear.

Typing with all these pads on
is quite a troublesome chore.
On alert with my crash helmet
peeking 'round her bedroom door.

Teasing her about her birthday
was likely not a good idea.
Playing hide and hide some more
she's a seekin' with her stick.

Oh mama, didn't mean a bad thing
just trying to give you a smile.
Suppose she'll tucker out soon,
and i can quit running for awhile?

Hope this gift's a winner, my love!
Happy Birthday with all my kisses.
My buttercup, my love, my lady...
please quit chuckin' them dishes!
