Disaster Last night while watching the TV, My screen and house went dark. It seems and eagle hit the wire And caused injurious arc. I griped at the inconvenience And went early to bed. Not knowing that the noble bird Had caused it and was dead. I feel so guilty that the line Bringing light and heat to me Was pure disaster for the friend I'd been so glad to see. This bird that we profess to love The symbol of our Nation Is only safe if he stays far From human habitation. Only yesterday I wrote of him, Today I plan his requiem. March 31/04Joyce |

OhJoyce~ This is just such sad news~ I am as saddened by it as you are~ *Huglets* dear lady~ Had it happen once to a Great Horned Owl at my residence ... I contacted the electricity supplier and it seems that they had some sort of 'open connector' at the top of the pole that should have been 'closed' ... They rectified the connection, but too late for the owl. *Huglets* again ... ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Dear Joyce: I can imagine how you must feel. Whenever one of our wild friends is killed, we really feel saddened. I'm glad you got to see the eagle in his glory! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Dear Joyce What a sad ending for the eagle. A symbol of your nation and somehow it does not befit its timely death. Love Isobel ox |
