**This is something I wrote around Christmas. I'm having rather large gaps in my writing, and I fear I may have lost the gift. Please don't hold it against me if I don't write as well as before ** there is eternal nightfall hidden in the ways of untwined hair and brandished brown curls sweeping 'cross forehead white, unseen forces of auburn mystique quelling dayless moontide, and singer of motioned soliloquy, oh you! concealed not by hands. but hear all deception fall and watch fingerprints smudge illumination; pray, tell me, does the inimical wind meet porcelain cheeks, tonight? in between fantasies of steaming cocoa mugs, there was an essence disturbing distraction, some language unspoken teeming confessions of stealth pilfering light - stolen - chill settles in bones, unwelcome yet harbored feverishly, keeping tradition of snow-brushed lashes, shielding curious eyes from the widespread dark. somewhere, she gathered her children in fraying arms, shawl spreading quicker 'round frigid fingers fearful of icicled allure. how, strange. worshipping the apotheosis of vanishing, day. do you? there is still night, yes, always longer, strain, peaceful starlit ice. flaking sky grants patterned lace, frozen. here is divinity.. God gently handed me winter, in a paper bag, {I do believe.} If I were to touch you, would you bleed a velvet river, running miracles through the sodden ground? --Moi |

The imagery in the poem is really good. I think you captured the personality of winter quiet well. With the words used, the reader can see the colors and scenes mentioned in the poem, and it brings the words to life. |

one never loses the gift...it is there, always there, just out of sight when other things become more important in life |
