My Forgetting Place

Transparent winds, soft as a whisper
Touch my face with hands of silk.
Billowing clouds move through my world
Soft as cotton, white as milk.

Meandering streams sing songs of memories
Taunting my ears and haunting my mind.
Creamy white flowers perfuming the land
Reminding me of the path I must find.

Warm, glowing rays bring life to this meadow
Holding forever in their beacon of light.
Kisses from dew drops caressing bare ankles,
Butterflies endlessly lifting in flight.

This is my world, a place to retreat.
I know it exists somewhere near…
But until I can see it with eyes of my own,
In my mind I will hold it dear.

We must still be kindred "night owls" my Joyce!  I was about to close out when I came back and I saw you here.  I had just posted this one too!  You are quick on your feet, dear one.   Thank you for helping me find my way here - I love it!
Love to you, sweet Joyce!
Shereen.

Hi Shereen(in Michigan)
This is a very pretty poem. Nicely written and I like the rhyme.
I got a kick out of your garbage day one. I never forgot to put out the garbage can, but I used to run over it and drag it through the trailer park.

Shereen: I love the lightness and magical quality of this poem.  We all need such a place!
