Never Known Love

Again I awake before dawn, dreaming.
But yet again not acheiving.
An ideal I believed in, love.
I pray for help from above.

I'm like a faithful hound.
Whom love's only kicked around.
Broken, shattered, feeling forlorn.
Listening to music early earning room mate's scorn.

Understandable, that's truly my fault.
My life's been brought to a halt.
So I wake in the wee, early hour.
A victim that rejection chose to devour.

I'm like the dolphin born in the concrete pool.
Just the broken, romantic fool.
Who's never once known requited love.

Love shouldn't be that hard to do. I have learned something the *V*E*R*Y* hardest way. Love is not love until it's returned. Something felt by both. You can offer love, but until it's returned it's not true to you. Love will be true to you as well as the other. Believe it! From the voice of experience.
