Before I forget, losing you to the night.
I bring you roan horses to ride.
Witnessed by a yawning yellow moon
my love for you in your waning eye.

Amber light washes the blue meadow...
Before I forget, losing you to the night
the wind is fragranced by you riding by
patches of golden wheat where we kissed.

Darkness lays dying on your lips
parched by the quick flowing breeze
Before I forget, losing you to the night
the streams that feed my hungry sleep

The roan horses bleed into starlight
into vapor your love fades to choking dust
On my knees where you lay motionless in wait
Before I forget, losing you to the night.

This poetry form is Viator.  Viator is latin for traveler.  In this the line one, stanza one travels to line two in the second stanza, line three in the third stanza and the last line in the fourth stanza. A viator can be three line stanza or double...in double the line comes back up in three more stanzas.

Thank you for your response...I love trying new forms too, The more you know, the more your muse has to work with.
