Etched in the illusion of time

biting lip so blood won't rush
and sees through closed eyes
colors of black
such an effort to breathe
beauty suffocates her

again. light her way

emotions immediately shift
somehow velvet as night which closes
around,
again.

she is intensely aware
sensitivity to the air
using her fingers as her toes she dances
them
across the paper, near
to fountains of indigo ink

trials
of the tongue and the soul
to make
aberrations
        abound

there was once a time
all too near
where whispers had names and
hands held a promise
for freedom

prophecy, what
poison is gravity filling her with

her soul
beautified in scars that words leave
you touch them
in lyrical sound and pen a
passion
for history
they still bleed

like water and silk

she sleeps in fallacy of morning
shutting the windows to banish
moon
believing in voices
adeptly asphyxiating annihilation
through her soul

can you even feel the glass fall
from your fingers,
or is my sight unparalleled,
wine burgeoning a stain
deeper
stilling canyons inside our souls
...
