As light fades between oak and pecan leaves it leaves behind the dust of today Scattered with hues of autumn and purple. A spray of water from a leaky hose reflects the Sun's reassurance in a faceted dance A siren It fades. Evening breeze carries under its arm the aroma of green As summer begins its last stanza. In the tango of days Light persists. To live in its midst-- beyond syllables. 7/26/2003 The present is tomorrow's yesterday. |
