The Windmill Turns

The windmill turns and down below,
I watch to see sweet water flow
And fill the tank up to the top.
The horses wander in and stop
To sink their noses in the treat
Of icy water, in the heat
The day has brought. They move away
And bob their heads, as if to say
A thank you for the drink.I see
Them group beneath a lonely tree,
To share the little patch of shade.
I take my shoes off and I wade
Across the tank, to cool my feet.
I listen to the creaking beat
Of windmill blades, still going round,
To draw this treasure from the ground!

Hello Betty Lou

The imagery I saw through your words was outstanding and so very much enjoyed.

Take care.......Sue
