You stepped today
across that divide
one toddling teeter
to a tiptoed stride

your smile was elated
amazed by yourself
eyes were blue skies
and you laughed
like an elf

how quickly you’ve grown
my littlest one

already a’walkin’
my Ian
my son

There once was a wily coyote
He's known as uncle Billy
He gives us a smile
Every once in a while
With tales about his baby
