(This is a work in progress, I more than anything needed to vent) I've thrown it all out onto the table yet his hands keep melting into an old lover's I can't stand the memories of those winding roads and the endless mountains but I keep journeying there asking for answers I have a letter, returned and now unsent with his name pressed against it my dreams are revealing all those secret fantasies and slowly I'm scarying myself with these rituals his face changes in ther light dancing carefully it emerges with a different set of eyes I wonder softly if it's the devil or God indulging my illusions calming me or leading me on the table is cluttered and stacked high if i wash the stains away what road awaits me is this old lover simply a ghost here haunting me with the whispers of sweet soulful breathe do i have the memories confused does he still think of me too even with a body of his own pressed carefully against his delicate skin and satin sheets have i lost my mind in this daydreaming the words end up lost with each visit and i hang hopelessly upon this branch swinging about to fall straight into the unknown my passion is exploding sitting here typing one more word expressed might spill his existence into reality i can't make my way through many more clouds so strangling they've become the scent heavy a thousand roses blooming and i don't know his feelings and i'm trapped waiting for the stamp on this old letter to fly my love, my memories into his fragile world and i look on passed the glass door separating our souls To be great is to be misunderstood. We country folk have an old saying. "No use beating a dead horse." But there is lots of feeling in this poem. Joyce |

this is very sad, and lingering in the past. I hope you are able to move forward soon--we can all only stand beating ourselves up to a point--breath new air, good luck, Gypsy! |
