I'm lost on this road
There's no room at the inn
Unwanted load
   implanted within
You're not by my side
   No place to hide
      Road that I ride

Alone in this lane
   Forgotten again
Driven insane
for my now is not then
when you held me to you
   Closer I never knew
      The road that I ride

Brakes on your heart
   motivated this all
There's no Dodging the Dart,
   no braking my fall
You drove from the start
'til you put up a wall
      that I crash into
          I never knew...

...that once again I would be...

Lost on this road
   No room in your heart
No vacancy owed
and I'm way off the chart
that was the map you once used
   Now I'm lost and confused
on the road that I ride

Christmas Night,2000

Dear Geoffrey,

you do paint the sadness in this poem with your heart. i like your style, straightforward and yet close to the heart.

Merry Christmas to you I hope you're not getting christmas blues!

Street Heart,

I hope things are much better than they were. You write with such feeling!

This poem is wonderful!

It truly did bring tears to my eyes, as you've described a heartache I'm sure we've all felt at some point in our life.

May this seasons' holidays bring you peace and happiness.
