Somebody stole the Annika car! Now this is quite a shock I searched around the corner I looked all round the block The Annika car’s been stolen! I loved that car so much A thief now knows her splendors A crook enjoys her clutch It was a fancy Jetta Volkswagen made, its true I treated her like a sister And kept her looking new We'd tear around the Avenues And climb up steeply hills The way she handled Lombard Street Would bring Andretti chills Her seats were oh so comfy They firmly gave support I wish they'd find that criminal I’d testify in court! The Annika car is silent And that is just as well I’ve done so much inside that car The stories it could tell If you ever see the Annika car While taking a little trip Please don’t tell me, no no no I’ll cry if it were stripped I’d like to find a seer Who's crystal globe would say “It’s there, you are mistaken Look it’s still parked on Clay!” Alas, but that can't happen The Annika car is gone It's my fault, ‘tis I who parked And left her all alone So when my Allstate man calls And sends my little check I’ll get a car with a cd changer Instead of an old tape deck But I’ll still pine for Sweetie My lovely former ride The Annika car I cherished First car I ever buyed Somebody stole the Annika car Oh mournful, mournful day I wish they hadn’t done it But sometimes life’s that way The Annika car’s been stolen It doesn’t seem for real She’s gone but not forgotten The Annika-mobile! "Oh, do not ask, 'What is it?' Let us go and make our visit." -Eliot [This message has been edited by A. L. Becker (10-23-2002 04:05 AM).] |

A.L.Becker~ Awwwwwwww, this is sad and cute at the same time~ Nicely, nicely done ... and I'm sorry about the little Annika~ Maybe she'll end up selling her 'stories' to The National Inquirer ? Seriously ... hope she turns up no worse for the wear~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

I'm so sorry,Annika!Wow...but how you turned a sad experience into such a written work of art!Really though, why can't people leave their dirty little hands off other people's stuff?Sometimes a thing is more than just a "thing",and then some idiot steals that certain something that became a comforting part of your world.Sorry you lost your buddy. Thanks, Geoff, that'll teach me not to get so attached to material things, LOL! Annie! "Oh, do not ask, 'What is it?' |
