      Touch not the cat
      Tis a warning fairly given
      The wounds she inflicts
      Cut straight to the heart

      Touch not the cat
      Hunter heed this advice
She cares not who she bites
In her own hunger and her pain

      Touch not the cat
Your heart you will hold forfeit
And will all be for naught
In the endless hours before dawn

      Touch not the cat
      You will spend forever regreting
The sacrifice you made to her pain
For you cannot touch her soul

Interesting, and I read more into it than there seemed to be.

Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau"

Prometheus,
Well when the words started coming I was thinking of one person...and the pain he had caused...a warning was given...

You write beautifully...love laced with pain

Wisdom indeed never trust a cat, they seem so friendly..only when they want to though. really enjoyed the poem. I have 3 cats at home and two dogs, I always get worried when they cats want paly means they are after something, lol,
