A butterfly inspires more than a single thought... Butterfly Thoughts - II Born into a cocoon, bound tight, Gaining wings, a caterpillar's free, Lively with frolic, full of flight, As she undertakes life's decree. She flies high without any end in sight, Bright coloured wings assist her flight, Sees the world in shades of grey, A fluttering soul guides the way. Fasting, she had been within her shell, Solitarily confined, in the dark cocoon, After two weeks in the gloomy well, Freedom now gained, a well-earned boon. In flight, she has become her own, Into the wide world she has flown. [This message has been edited by Sudhir Iyer (edited 06-21-2000).] |

This is very beautiful, Sudhir! I was going to do a poem called The Metamorphosis and it was also going to be about a butterfly but it's no need to know because mine won't stand a chance against yours...ha,ha. Nathan |

Born into a cocoon, bound tight, Gaining wings, a worm becomes free, Lively with frolic, full of flight, As she undertakes life's decree. Fasting, she had been within her shell, Solitarily confined, in the dark cocoon, After two weeks in the gloomy well, Freedom now gained, a well-earned boon. This series is getting more beautiful, more please. wonderfully written. < !signature--> ------------------------ "We Irish are too poetic to be poets, we are a nation of brilliant failures." Nate, I think you should in fact write The Metamorphosis. Each writer/poet has his/her own perspective and it has to be explored to see, the depth of the sea....and the roughness of the waters....So please go ahead and write... I would always think it will be much better than this one...So please try, I will be waiting to read your poem... by the way, thanks for reading and for the highest compliments offered regards, sudhir. |
