Love Tiptoes In

What strange exotic silent veil is this
That covers you with canopies of bliss?
A simple glance into a stranger’s eyes
Touches on a soul you recognize

Two strangers caught within the veil of chance
And suddenly both spirits dance a dance

Unlike a force that ever came before
You feel his essence drawing near to yours
your timid spirit falls into his grips
No words can find a place upon your lips

Then in the silence of the lunar light
Love tiptoes in and quickly steals the night

Love the title...love these thoughts...

Then in the silence of the lunar light
Love tiptoes in and quickly steals the night

so beautiful, Elizabeth

I love the last two lines, wonderful ending to a beautiful poem.

What a gem this is Elizabeth ... I would love to see all the aching hearts of poetry
fall beneath the magic of chance encounters

There really is something to "love at first sight."  I've always thought that we are all connected, some more than others of course.
I've heard people argue that it is just infatuation....I'm not so sure! I know of couples that have been married thirty years and that was how it started for them.

Aside from those points, this is another excellent poem Elizabeth, you have a way of getting your readers to deposit their mind right into your work.........ethome..

calling them to join

Liz, this is wonderful! It's a beautiful description of how love can just slip into your life.

Instant awareness, like looking up and seeing your own eyes peering back if you dare to hold the gaze. I love the title as well...wonderful poem, Elizebeth.

Elizabeth~
I think many of us have fallen
under the spell of that 'instant glance'
at one time or another in our lives.

You tell it well.
