....and she muses about trees when her mind is not busy stuck in a computer lol

I am nothing more
these days
than  reaching out
soaking in everything I see
growing to be sure
or so it seems
but I have no friends
no enemies either
no I just
have no time
day and night
I funnel knowledge
nonstop growth until
I my leaves on top
feel ready to drop
yet my roots
hold me tight but have you ever
seen a tree
that lifts up its skirts
and just walks away?
that is my dilemma
and just how
did I get to be a tree
anyway that
everyone leans on
I am strong?
I am shade and comfort from
the heat
I am shelter?
my bows
almost break from the effort
of caring
I am nurture?
when do I let go
so they may form roots
of their own
when do I mature
enough to stand alone?
I am thirsty
too
who waters me?
do things ever get to be too much
for a tree
I mean
do you think they ever have
had just too much
have you ever
seen a tree that just up
and
walks away?

corazan,
this is really a fantastic metaphor.... your writing is haunting and so full of imagery and emotion.... this one has a distrubing quality about it.... i know how all of this feels.... somehow i'm not surprised that you would again write something that touched me so deeply.... i identify with this one so much... i wish i wrote this... it is a fine piece of work....
will write later today

Corazon, another amazing piece by your pen. Maybe just upping and walking away to a new forest is what you need to do. We got wonderful forests in Canada....

Great poem

Take it one step further and the poor tree becomes a computer manual...guess that means I was once a tree, so you myst have been as well...so how many trees are now writing poetry...hmmmm...I hate it when you make me think...

I really like this poem very much, all us trees have to be planted by the river of life, and be rooted in the rock. I like your analogy as it can be so true.

Your roots grow deep and strong in this one.  Wonderful creation and a real pleasure to read.  Allow me to water the ground around you.

Great job, Twiggy. *EG* (See... that's what you get for doubting you have friends... *G*) I didn't hate you for being a one and only... and I didn't even hate you for being so damn gorgeous!!! *G* But I'm going to have to hate you if you keep writing so well... jealousy is such an unattractive attribute! LOL

I am SO glad you brought this one back. I HAE it when one of yours gets by me!

I've always considered you a tree, Corazon. Beautiful limbs, subtle bark, roots untouched by Clairol and squirrels can find a home in you. If you ever need a little sap, call me

I wish for the day you are a Royal Palm and not a weeping willow    The poem is terrific.....
