The dragon awakens from his sleep Looking for a treasure to reap He sets off over the land Obeying the wizard's command He has cast a magical spell On the old stone wishing well From which the dragon drank After he slept on the river bank The dragon is on his way To battle a daring knight today Their paths will cross in the grass What the wizard predicted comes to pass Looking in his crystal ball The wizard is able to see all When the dragon unleashes his fury The knight retreats in a hurry He is barely able to escape As the dragon's evil grin takes shape The wizard in his robe of blue One day will get his due Until then you should beware There could be a dragon lurking there Over the hill and through the trees Only where the wizard sees Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
