(For my nephew, Brian, upon receiving his BA in Fine Arts from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. Congratulations, Brian!) You might be the next Michelangelo, Renoir, Picasso, maybe a Van Gogh Creating masterpieces with each stroke Upon the canvas and may well evoke A sense of awe, deep admiration, too, From those who view the wonders in each hue That come to life through your creative hand And grace museum walls throughout the land. Perhaps your work will garner no acclaim Your name not mentioned in the halls of fame Unknown, unsung in books of history And cherished only by your family. Well known or not, whatever be your fate Paint to His glory; none can confiscate The rich rewards bestowed on those who serve The Master Artisan without reserve. With faith and perseverance at your side Forever in His peace you will abide; The canvas of your life by far will be Your greatest masterpiece eternally. Denise~ Such a lovely piece. 'Artistry' must run in the family ! Brian's strokes on canvas - yours quilled upon the canvas of our hearts. You rock, gal ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Paint to His glory; none can confiscate The rich rewards bestowed on those who serve The Master Artisan without reserve. Denise, a beautiful poem and wonderful tribute to your son's talent. I wish him all the best in the future. why must we pray screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith |

A beautiful piece of encouragement for your nephew, Denise. Lovely writing ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Thank you, Linda, SEA, Brian and Claire for reading and for your lovely replies! I'm glad that you liked it! I have since revised this one a bit: Perhaps you’ll be a Michelangelo, Renoir, Picasso, maybe a Van Gogh Creating masterpieces and evoke A sense of awe with every brush you stroke. The world of art may herald all you do Expounding on the wonders in each hue That come to life through your creative hand And grace museum walls throughout the land. Perhaps your work will garner no acclaim Your name not mentioned in the halls of fame Unknown, unsung in books of history And cherished only by your family. Well known or not, whatever be your fate Paint to His glory; none can confiscate The rich reward bestowed on those who serve The Master Artisan without reserve. Blend faith and perseverance, mix them well; Your palette, fill with harmony’s pastel; The canvas of your life thus brushed, you’ll find No greater masterpiece of any kind. Denise |

Denise, A beautiful tribute to the young artist. Loved the original, loved the revision, most especially this.... "Blend faith and perseverance, mix them well; Your palette, fill with harmony’s pastel; The canvas of your life thus brushed, you’ll find No greater masterpiece of any kind." Just beautiful. Bonnie |

Thank you, Bonnie, that's my favorite part too. I guess that is why I was dissatisfied with the first version.....something else wanted to be added and it turned out to be my favorite part. I'm glad you liked it too. Thanks for reading and for your lovely reply. Denise |
