the gaming heart ... play the heart's gambling game of truth or dare to be the person you really are beating image it sees in mirror's break clearer picture never met a canvas stretched the (oneself)ishness deeply infects wounding all gentle spirits within reach scars left for lifetimes beyond a lifetime time to heal, but the forgotten won't forget taking back gifts never intended to be given sorrow's name called out, but never heard even taking away the comfort of tears the crying makes not the payments in full throwing sharpened darts of pre-judgement the (one)self ultimately becomes the fool pitch black comes of its wagered heart isolation constructs its unlivable cold home but to live that truth without the bet made even Herculean efforts will most times fail most can't afford to borrow for the gamble but will lend emotions with interest due M.A. Miller 07.23.00 < !signature--> My calling before me, let quill be my offering; For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive. There is much bitter truth in this poem, M.A. It is, perhaps, only in trusting that one's heart finally can reflect a smooth, unshattered surface, but the risk of true exposure prevents so many from even approaching the glass. Very thoughtful commentary, to my way of thinking. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Well, I've read this three times and am so taken by it's content...because I can't quite grasp it, but do...does that make sense? |
