Splendor In The Grass ~*Marge Tindal*~ Return me to the splendor among the grasses green Sweet memories waiting in the land of ever-seem Stroll me across the meadow damp with morning dew Daffodil upon the hill preens in every yellowed-hue Poppies dancing on the breeze blown in gentle sway Soar me now, kite-in-flight string me far away Ease me down in grasses fertile with memoried stain Caress me gently-peppered with softly falling rain Wake me when the quilting hour falls across the sky Walk me through the shadowed-grasses parting on gentle sigh *Dedicated to MarkB~ Hope this is 'next' enough ! ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Oh Marge that is so beautiful and so well done. What a natural poet you are..... "Ease me down in grasses fertile with memoried stain. Caress me gently-peppered with softly falling rain. Wake me when the quilting hour falls across the sky Walk me through the shadowed-grasses parting on gentle sigh." Sheer poetic delight flows in every line. Great stuff!!!!! Take care...........ethome............... |

Jeez---does this ever take me back. It has been along time since I have been able to enjoy something such as this. I think I just need to take the time but first someone to share it with. Great imagery. |

Marge~ I can smell the flowers and the grass coming from your words. Aaahhh, what a lovely scent and splendid picture that comes to mind! Thanks Mark for inspiring this piece!!! "Wake me when the quilting hour falls across the sky" Marge, I believe this is one of the most engaging lines I have ever the pleasure to read...and what a loverly poem in which to find it! ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Melissa~ I do appreciate that Mark inspired me with his comment, "What's next?" in another reply. Glad you found it to your liking. LoneWolf~ I knew you would like it. Thank you for letting me know. Claire~ You have a knack for finding the phrase in my work that also is special to me. I liked it and am glad you noticed it. All right Marge, If your going to write these kinds of things when I'm out of town and gone... Well, I'm just gonna have ta tell you that your going ta have ta copy me all the best around. I was kinda thinking how the grass might of felt being all smooshed and..? Hardy Har_lucky-D Ode By William Wordsworth Be now for ever taken from my sight, Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find Strength in what remains behind; In the primal sympathy Which having been must ever be; In the soothing thoughts that spring Out of human suffering; In the faith that looks through death, In years that bring the philosophic mind. Ode. By Wordsworth, William. Sometime between 1801 and 1807. [This message has been edited by lucky (edited 07-23-2000).] |
