Translucent the pain to others eyes,
Inside myself I scream and cry.
Maybe the legend never worked that way,
Too much to create just one perfect day.

Without your love I wither fast,
and steal myself against sorrows grasp.
Only I can feel the pain,
But what was my loss, was never your gain.

I know in the end I'll be the one,
Whom through this battle fought, surely won.
And where perchance will your heart be?
I doubt you'll ever think of me.

But my memories still glow like gold,
and that treasure chest I'll always hold.
Remembering once when you were mine,
And that forever was too short a time.

These memories will carry me on,
and the grief and pain will soon be gone.
I'll be wiser and better off you see,
because of what you created in me.

I've seen the tale through other's eyes,
and discovered your secret hoard of lies.
Perhaps our love was never true,
Maybe I did only love the idea of you.

So even now, while sorrow reigns,
I thank you deeply for causing the pain.
For soon my life will be strong and full,
and never again will my heart be fooled.

Peta~
Welcome.

This is a lovely entrance you've made to our family of Passionate Poets.

As one who greatly believes in storing
the memories of love,
I found this verse to be a perfect reminder.

'But my memories still glow like gold,
and that treasure chest I'll always hold.
Remembering once when you were mine,
And that forever was too short a time.'

Thanks for sharing.

There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

You have a special gift, you know
Your words and thoughts, so softly flow.

Welecome   This is a great place to be. I enjoyed your poem. We all become wiser at a loss, even when it hurts so much.
