“TWO ROSEBUDS OF RED” Two rosebuds of red attached to a vine, Protected by their sharp thorns. See them my lover, those two over there, They are the ones entwined, and looking newborn. They remind me of the time when we first met, In this rose garden a long time ago. I’m sure you remember, when I bumped into you, Right over there I thought, still seeing how you glowed. We both said hello and that’s all it took, Something that we started and it grew. It became a very tender love affair, And I knew it was only for the love of you. This day progressed and those rosebuds bloomed, Just like our love did, over all these years. Rosebuds opening just like our hearts, So many times over, when we were near. See those two rosebuds of red over there, One saying it’s yours, and one saying it’s mine? Which one would you rather have my lover, One of those two entwined on that thorny vine? Yes, you can have one of those rosebuds of red, But won’t you first listen to my plea? “Please my lover, don’t you choose one just now, For perhaps, I pray that you would rather choose me”? Sunshine, I also love roses, especially two of red. So much meaning when there are two to share them. Thank you for stopping by again. |

Bill, I enjoyed your poetic analogy. Nicely written. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

I pray that I didn't overlook the poem you were talking about, I will go back and look for it. It is surely a lovely place to be, and let me extend my welcome to you. Corinne, Thank you for your kind comments. I just loved the memories of this particular rose garden. Thanks again. |

Who wouldn't choose a love so sweet, instead of the thorny vine? (come into my garden, I am so happy you picked mine.) Nice writing here! Gossamerwings ;) |

Sunny, I'm so glad that you found it, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. This was a very romantic rose garden to me, and I really hoped that I could portray it in this poem. As always Sunny, thank you for being so gracious. Butterflies_dont_cry, Yes Butterflies_don't cry, they are words from my heart. Thank you for coming by, and for your comment. |
