Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep And, lying here before I close my eyes I must tell you, God, what's on my mind... Tonight I found her face in the dark And, as always, God, it eased my heart With so many miles between her heart and mine I've found on my loneliest nights somehow she shines... I know she's never understood why I fell so hard But, there is just something, God, with being apart She gives me the peace of mind that only an angel could bring She has the way, Dear God, to stop the rain... It's been years that I've cried for something endlessly And, I know it's for the family you've handed to me I come to you each night with wanting them here And, it's always, God, written in these tears... I have found that a families love is forever And, in our way our hearts are always together There's really never a dark moment without any light I know, because my angel was with me tonight... Now, in this prayer let me speak to her And, let her feel my heart in each single word She must also know what a blessing she's been She's my favorite angel and my most kindest friend... So, God, my heart is in your hands And, same time tomorrow I'll be back again But, if I should die before I wake At least I smiled- I saw her face... Saun Sauni :) |

Beautiful poem! I can relate to this one because I know from experience how it feels to love someone who is a very long way away from you. That is why I am an ex-American living in New Zealand now! Gem |
