Cold, Alone ....void of life
Taken, Used....turn the knife
Tears of ice fall like rain
Remove the power to cause me pain

I’ll live here in the dark
Remembrance my eternal spark
Cold, Alone....void of life
From your hands I take the knife

Trust and love did once exist
A second look I will resist
Taken, Used .....left to cry
Cold, Alone....the feelings die

No more tears will spill today
Closing eyes....you walk away
Taken, Used....the knife was turned
Heart to Stone....lesson learned

May I join you in a heartfelt cry?  This is so sad to see one turn to shelter but I do understand the need to go.  Wonderfully written.

BDC A HUGE HUG. I wish their words I could say, to express how I feel about this poem but when reading something so raw I am left lost for words. All I want to do is rush to your side and ask "are you ok?" then give you a give hug. I only wish my arms could reach that far. anyway take care my friend,
I hope the rays of light shine down soon until then love and concern, brian.

we learn the lessons of the heart the hard way...sometimes we learn them more than once...but in time we do learn from our-

your poetry of late makes my point for me...
written from that place deep with-in my SS
and by writing it out...
we let it out..let it go...

Butterflies....

This was beautifully written and I felt
     the pain in your heart.
It's so hard to watch love
                  walk away...

I do love your work so very much!

Butterflies_dont_cry,
This is so touching and sad.. Butterflies are not suppose to be sad. All I could think of was wanting to help, but a hug is all I can send. A tear came down, even to my eyes. Very nice Butterflies_dont_cry, but a smile on your face, not a tear.

Oh Butterflies ... such powerful and raw emotions. I ached just reading this verse. Beautifully written from the sorrows of the heart.

Best wishes and HUGS,

butterfly: I can relate almost too well to this poem...it brought back feelings that left from me not so long ago. I guess you never really forget. Thanks for sharing yours.

Mark* Inside is the one place that no one
can hurt you.....of course that means no one
can help you either.  As for the cry...sure
thing. It's quiet comfort when someone
understands...I appreciate it~

Brian* Awe...my thanks to you.  A hug of the heart
is well received as well...I think my muse was
having a bad day...tripping down memory lane. Thank
you for your kindness and your gentle heart~

Walt* many to yuh thanks

Janet* I'm beginning to think that is the
ONLY way I get it!  As for wise.....after
all the tears I should be a millionaire call
Regis quick!!!

Sunny* Thank you for reading and for you
kind comments, they are always appreciated~

Bill*  Thanks for the hug.....the smile will
come..it always does after the rain

Kit* You are always a ray of sunshine!  Thank
you so much for reading~

PS* No I don't think you ever forget pain
that deep....you can tuck it away..but not
forget.  Thank you for reading...so sorry
that you relate to this~

BDC,

Ouch, I can feel the knife.  Powerful words my friend.  What images.  Great writing.  Take care.  **HUGS**

ButterfliesDC~
You touch me with your thoughts.
I hope all of our *hugs* touch you.

Seems to me that a heart as loving as yours deserves more ...
just more.

Love you

My dear friend! This is awesome writing, powerful, painful, emotive, and straight from the heart as always. By hanging onto the memories you have learned the lessons and become stronger and wiser. You know my shoulder is always available, take care!

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown

Looks like some lingering pain has stopped by for a little visit...I believe that we do learn lessons from our mistakes or our pain...in my case I realize that I need to be more dedicated and devoted when I am actively in a  relationship...embrace it and value it...when its gone its too late..James

Remembrance my eternal spark

I know this!

You've written with a dreary pen m'friend. Inky dark and full of the poignant emotions that we've all known even if we weren't able to express them! You've done it magnificently here... and I really liked your usage of ellipsis' to segregate in the lines!
