Delicious were my childhood days
Where lemon sunshine hid its rays
Behind the marshmallow clouds on high
That float so gentle on  blueberry skies

On banks of honey rivers Id sit and play
Watching the green spearmint grass sway
Along with the wind scented thick with strawberries
That echoed the laughs of gum drop fairies

Id often pick the buttercups,so soft and sweet
Afraid that their petals might melt in the heat
ForI cherished every delicacy in this enchanted land
WhileI danced with the piper and the gingerbread man

Its been many years since Ive taken a taste
Of the bounties of treats in this candied place
But as long as i live, the child in my memory
Will forever frolic in her lollipop fantasy.

Princess......

You reached out and grabbed me
with the title, and then as I read I
loved the pictures that floated around in
   my memory!!

       '....thanks for the memories....'

            This was a wonderful read
and now I have a craving
                for a lollipop!!!

Hey...poutprincess....this starts off almost like a Joni Mitchell lyric
You had this desire and gift to write even as a child if that is the way you remember the things from your childhood. It's there and it ain't gonna go away sweetheart......so you might as well keep em coming cause you're going to anyway.......

take care...........ethome.....
