(Part 1) Into my life you came, Like a breath of fresh air, Fresh after the stormy rain, You gave me hope and happiness, Eased my hearts' pain, Gave me joy and gladness, When my heart had been torn apart, You mended it with every stitch of your love, Sewn together like a baseball glove, My heart was captured by your spell, Your tender words written so well, I had fell in love with you, What was I to do? For my heart had been true, True to another who had broken it in two, No longer did I feel love, But bonded by law, Not laws of the heart, Which sets you and I apart, For we are bonded by our souls, Destined to be together from the start, Friends became something more, Just what my heart was searching for, If only I would have waited for you, My heart would never be broken in two, I would be happy and true, Never sad or blue, If only I would have waited for you... WOW!! This is such a great poem. I know exactly how you feel here. Reading this gave me chills, because it is word for word, a few pages from the story of my own life... Love this!!! |
