Th view from my project window (a deep poem) |

As I look down below, from my project window, I see dark streets and crowded projects, where violence is the logic, where you could get stabbed or shot, from bullets of a metal object. Bums were roaming around the streets, picking up cans and looking for food to eat. Drunks in the streets, were staggering left and right after boozing all night. The prostitutes were flirting with the addicts and the thugs were eyeing for enemies, and clutching their automatics. As I continue to look down below, from out my project window, I see my neighbor, Mr. Quindow, walking down the street, looking at the shoes on his feet. I said "hello" to him but, he just looked up and cursed me, and continued to walk down the street, shouting and using lots of profanity. His problem was his big mouth and like a candle, he's fixing to fade out, as the liquor stores embraced him, as he came everyday, so they used and wasted him. He's also targeted by some street gang, that he's owes money too so he better straighten up, or his life will shortly be through. Anyways, the project is not the place to be, and everyone in it, seems trapped to me. I wished that I could fly away from this because, I'm tired of living in it!!! If my mind is the cake, then my tongue is the candle, as I'm praying to God, as I kneel on this mantle, wishing that my wish is granted, so that I can be taken, to the land of the enchanted. My imagination was taking off like a kite, so I took out my pen and began to write. Outside, there was loud music as the bums and drunks, were fixing to lose it. Despite the loud noise, I continued to write and stay poised as I looked at my poem as I was so hooked to my soul's tune, that I happily said, "one day, I'll publish you soon. My soul's melody, made hell sound so heavenly, and if I don't watch out, jail would be, the next step for me. as I've always wanted, to be a part of, what's out there because, it's always been, the music to my ears as I've witnessed police shakedowns, shootouts, and bloody playgrounds. People, this is the life of a ten year old, while staring out his project window. |

Nate Dogg......... If I could vote a million times for this, I would!!! I always read your work, and the ones that you term "deep" certainly are, but I crave them........so don't stop. They deal with humanity, in all it's harsh reality. And a good dose of reality never hurt me, so far........ Excellent work here......more, please.... My heart is an open book ....take a look.... |
