A nightingale in evening sings, And calms the soul, on feathered wings, No more I hear, life's sad lament, Sweet melody, from muses sent. On golden wing, bird's lilting call, As from aloft, god's madrigal, Clear crystal notes of warbling lute, Refreshing breeze, forth heaven's flute. Cecilia's voice, angelic lyre, Am touched upon by goddess choir, Encaptured in love's harmony, Transported by night's symphony. Mistaking earth for heaven's vail, Enraptured by, a nightingale. |

Cecilia's voice, angelic lyre, Am touched upon by goddess choir, Encaptured in love's harmony, Transported by night's symphony. Mistaking earth for heaven's vail, Enraptured by, a nightingale .........; Mike, this is such a beautiful expression of poetic imagery... Glad to have read this one... My regards, Sudhir My heart is pounding, my stomach's inside out I'm feeling kind-a-shaky, my mind is full of doubt All I ever think about, is fearing fear itself, Wish I could unscrew my head and put it on the shelf Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight, Don't know what I'm looking at, the lights are all too bright My brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor Sweep 'em up. Throw 'em away, don't want 'em anymore Clouds race across the sky, day turns into night, Still there are the questions, no answers in sight Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight, Starin' out the window, everything is just too bright Brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor, Wish I could unscrew my head, and kick it out the door... You know I'm feeling kind-a....Strange You know I'm feeling kind-a....Strange ~ Strange ~ Joe Satriani (Flying in a Blue Dream) |

My God, just when I think you can't get any better, you come up with something so completely fresh and melodious as this! Where do you find such colorful words and ideas? This is just breathtaking, that's all I know to call it. WOW. |

While reading this, I pictured someone sitting out on their back porch underneath a lavender twilight, the first stars gently twinkling in the sky, and hearing the sweet song of the nightingale that you described. Thanks for the peaceful image! Elizabeth I'm grabbing my hat and coat I'm leaving the cat a note Quick call me a ferry boat-getting out of town! |

Well I will have to put my red slippers on and click them together,...shakespeare from Kansas... The nighting gale, I envisioned is someone singing from her heart about her true love, love she longs to hold, and this song she sings is her mating call to him, where ever he may be, across the earth, she cries out to him throughout eternity, like a maiden waiting on her prince... |

Magical, enchanting and beautiful. Applause! I love this! Excellent theme, any poem that I have read about nightingales and love, is always beautiful and unique. I can't choose a favourite verse or line simply because every line is better than the next, how can I choose from perfection?! Excellent poem o' romantic Mike! Take care, Melissa Honeybee |
