Between a laugh and a tear...

For my Angel.........

I see your bruises, though they don't show
But still the scars are there, deep inside
Hidden far away from the healing light
Damaged and scared, nowhere to hide

So you build your fortress within your mind
Walls around those memories locked safely away
Dark and forbidding no one now can venture there
But what of you! Lost and alone, must it always be you to pay

For this life you lead, I know not your choosing
You yearn for freedom and long for a love
Held back only by those memories and your fear
Seeking only to spread your wings and fly with the dove

Fear me not my love I'll not break down your walls
Rather I shall scale them, I'll stand upon those ramparts
And shine the light of my love into the darkness of your past
Fly high into the light for you will find freedom there in your heart

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown

Paula.....I think it is I who is the lucky one to have loved such a wonderful lady.

Janet........I don't know what I was thinking, I'm scared of heights LOL. A daredevil poet, what more could you want! As for the halo, well I don't think it would fit all that well on me.      Thankyou so much for your kind words.

Butterfly....You know that my angel knows   for her I would do anything and everything, such is the love she inspires. Thankyou!

SpitFire.....I thankyou so much for for your comments my friend. To know her is to love her.< !signature-->

What feeling !
Strong, honest, caring ...
and tender ... oh, so tender.
Beautifully done, dear Eagle.

Eagle One,

You heart shines through with love and utter devotion in this piece.  It is beautiful and so heartfelt.  I am sure your "angel" wept tears of joy when she read this one.  She is a special person indeed.  Excellent writing!!
