As I sit here with a thought of you
There is nothing left for me to do
   Just close my eyes
and let you invade my senses
tear away at my defensive fences,
to step away from what you stand for
        perhaps,
             some illusive, wavering door
vibrating me to the very, vulnerable core.
Sending shivers along the edges of my skin,
like some unspeakable deed left for sin
    Yet,
my mind keeps me standing steady
for I know neither are we both ready,
to reach up to a higher state of mind
each afraid of outcomes we could find,
in this deafening crowd of doubt so intense
our bodies rigid in silent suspense,
           of that unknown boundary
                  we just might cross
our precautions left to suffer its loss,
          Still I look at you,
              and know somewhere inside
you hold back with fear to confide.
In your eyes I slip into depths of sorrow
where you are hiding until some other marrow,
confused on life's never ending choices
trying hard to ignore invading voices,
            searching for a place
                     to sit and ponder
dwell in your emotions and silently wander,
As to what can the next sunrise hold
a sky full of warm light
or a gale full of cold.
      Nothing on our spinning axis
                     can intervene,
        on your decision to fall
                into that place so serene,
where you awaken to the dawn of total bliss
shining radiance giving you a lifelong kiss.
My consolation I give you is my listening ear
and these arms that will hold you ever so near,
      Only,if you should need
                      that extra caring touch
I am here to give you such.....

James, to be my first reply, I have a feeling it will be something I'll always remember.  Thanks for being quite so kind...

A great work to mark your entrance, Welcome!

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown

I enjoyed this poem very much.
When someone wanders through our thoughts it is a most pleasurable adventure.
You placed your emotions on the page very well.
