Some folks try to make you feel that life is for the young.... Well, I just don't agree with that.. I think my time has just begun.... Now, I have no desire--to live the way I used to do.. I'm real happy bein' where I am and doin' what I want to do.... I don't dwell on dying--I'll know when my time has come.. I'm too busy doin' what I like--that's makin' friends and havin' fun.. I may be gettin' older--But I'm not exactly through.. I've gotten smart--don't need to work as hard, as I did at 22......... Some of my friends can't handle.. the thought of their passing years.. But if I could--I'd never choose those teen-age blues and teen-age tears! I'll always be a kid at heart, and really--AGE IN YOUR MIND!!!! So, go ahead--Enjoy yourself and I'm sure that you're gonna find: that: Life don't stop at 40!! No matter what the T.V. says!! I'm finding things about myself I didn't know in my younger days........ I know just where I'm going... (and I know how to get there, too).. So--Move it on over--Make some room at the top-- There's a new face comin' through!! Life is but a dream... |

Being in the "Over 40" club myself I just had to read your poem.. I loved it and it is so true. I find out more things about me as I grow older. I would not want to go back either. Forge ahead. I still got alot of living to do too  kitkat |
