This is one of my most powerful pieces so enjoy!!!

It was a dark night,
with dark clouds, thunder, and rainy skies,
as the earth muttered sad cries.
Blood was spilled on the boat everywhere
and everyone was filled with fear,
as we were taken away from our native land,
by the viscious white man.
They beat us, raped us,
and tortured us in every way,
and they even punished us when we tried to pray.
My people and I, were so packed in this boat,
that we were touching, each other throats.
Urine was spilled everywhere
and it was all in our mouths and hair.
Everyone is deeply sickened
as well as disease-strickened.
as we're on a journey
to America, the land of the free
but for my people and I,
that was just a mere fantasy,
as we wre going to face,
the dark worlds of slavery.
And the worst part about the whole thing
was that, we were sold to the white man,
by our own blood, our African kings.
How could they do that?!!
Did they hate us that bad?!!!
Because of their greed
and lust for money,
my people and I,
will be trapped in the deep,
dark pits of slavery.
I looked up to the sky,
wiped a tear from my eye,
and asked God "why?"
Indeed my people and I,
have faced our soulful demise,
on the night, that the earth cried.

godammit . i hate being white and having to live with the knowledge that my race (or ours because i believe we r equal) would be so ignorant and so self believingly inadequate ( because , lets face it , one of the main reasons people need to be in authority is because they feel insignificant and belittled by everyone else) that they would do such a thing . thankyou .
extremely worthy of a book recommendation i think .

"and as it was with all things, we spoke in rhyme and riddle. Not for fear of detection, for that had happened very long ago, but rather that those wh

Nate......

This work is so intense, and paints vivid pictures of the truth. As I read, I feel the pain, and feeling other's pain and sharing it, sometimes helps to ease it.

I don't think Mother Earth just cried, Nate.......I think she screamed............

Yes, very powerful writing, Nate. I think this one is your best to date. You've painted a grim, realistic picture. It boggles my mind what one human being will do to another one, and yes, you are probably right, greed is most likely at the root. Well done!

Nate, my friend~
Yes, a very powerful piece of shameful truth
that fills our history books.

You had to know that I would relate to
this one when you also remember the
atrocities that befell the Indians of
America.

The pain that the African race suffered
at the hands of the 'power kings' is
also despicable.

You've written of the sorrow ...
let's hope that someday - someone will
write of the joy for all races.

Thank you for sharing this with us, Nate.
