When a little boy takes a tumble and a fall HE looks forward with abundant joy knowing he has a story for one and all "Look at my scar... this one here" Pointing to here and pointing there With each story his friends give a cheer "That's how it happened,honest...I swear!" When a man looks to his past Across his face shines a grin Towards his scars his eyes are cast Asking once again..."DO you remember when?" He shares his stories with such pride Trying to recall each little part Though now there are some that he will hide Proud he is not of the scars on his heart Mark Bohannan |

Mark, I was smiling while reading the first versus, think of my six year old, and then thinking of my oldest, my 35 year old husband, and I laughed at how true this is. And then I read the last part and felt sad at how true that is too. Wonderful, wonderful work. |

Jan--thank you and I am glad you can relate to this through the loved ones in your life. It's one of those "MAN THINGS" that make us so weak sometimes. serenity-thank you for your kind words and yes unfortuantly it is true. |

Mark* I too had visions of my little 4 yr old angel showing me his War wounds of the day...so proud when he didn't cry...then as I think of the Men I know...how they too are to proud to shed a tear while hiding the scars of the heart. Your work has once again brought me a moment of reflection...beautifully done~ [This message has been edited by Butterflies_dont_cry (edited 07-11-2000).] |

Bdc-thank you once again for reading and I am I glad you liked it. Reflection is nice sometimes. Ma Miller-yes there are and I am not speaking of myself. I spend alot of time reading and losing myself in others creations and I too love it. Thanks for reading. Martie-glad I could share it with you. Thank you. jm-It feels so good to be called a poet from one such as yourself. I enjoy your works, your sweetness and of course your moody muse. |

Mark, an excellent poem, so beautifully written with gentle wisdom. I really love this poem. "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else" faster-Manic street preachers. |
