In the space between moments

Amphitrite's whispering waves
Kiss the silvered shore
Gazing softly 'pon Luna's eyes
As so gently they implore...

"Why cannot we fly?"

The wind curls 'round the sky
And brushes wings with night
Howling to the snowy stars
Cursing it's endless flight...

"Why can I never sleep?"

Crystal rivers glittered gold
Thread throughout the land
Wanting more than just to flow
O'er the moonlit sands...

"Why am I trapped between these banks?"

A shattered soul floods the sea
With cascades of lonely tears
Screaming to the navy Heavens
For someone to know her fears...

"Why does no one understand?"

And Amphitrite's whispering waves
Call from the silvered shore
While from the wind and river
Warming words do pour....

"It is we who understand..."

All I can do is shake my head. What I wouldn't give to have written this kind of poetry at your age. This is magnificent Krista. You have never failed to impress me with your writing. If you could hear me right now, you'd hear the sound of my standing ovation! Wonderful. Wonderful.

*Throws all of her crappy poetry out the window*

My work is nothing compared to this!   This is a beautiful piece, Krista, as always.

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died
and I though alive, feel dead inside.

And you expressed doubts about the quality of this? This was a beautiful poem Krista, I loved the form with the stanzas and then the questions, and I especially loved that ending!

My favorites lines have to be
"The wind curls 'round the sky
And brushes wings with night
Howling to the snowy stars
Cursing it's endless flight..."
T
hat is evocative, these lines conjure up an incredible image in my mind.. Love them much...

Marvelous Krista, you are truly phenomenal in everything you do.

Uhh.. Krista... I LOVE this. Once again, we're blessed with the gift of your beautiful imagery! Can I make one eensy suggestion? Can you change the last line to "It is we who understand" ?
