I sift through memories
That mean so much
The way you held me
Your wild and gentle touch

The music your smile
Your eyes like mine
Our desires
The forgotten wine

The memories flash
Like lightning above
My heart betrayed me
And fell in love

You took those memories
Back home with you
You bring them out
When you’re feeling blue

I wish that I were there
To hold you tight
Kiss your brow
When you awaken at night

So until we are together
Instead of far from you
Just hold me tight in dreams
The memories will have to do.

A very lovely poem.

"So until we are together
Instead of far from you
Just hold me tight in dreams
The memories will have to do"

I know just how you feel here.  Great piece.

This is wonderful, sifting through the memories...the feelings that can bring about.  You've done a great job with this, it's great.  Bonnie

Being apart from the one you love is possibly the worst feeling in the world.  Excellent poem, keep the memories close.  I hope you are reunited soon

MagnoliaBlue,
I read it again and this verse is so true.

The memories flash
Like lightning above
My heart betrayed me
And fell in love

The heart is more powerful than the brain, and does things that sometimes we do not want. Keep writing, and I will definately keep reading.

MB,

I hope you get your wish.  This was beautiful writing.  So full of memories.  They should be cherished always.  Hold them dear to your heart.
