In Your Smile

Little one, bathed in the sweet moon's glow,
Wrapped in the mist of dreams,
With your sweet, warm smile you say all you know,
Love, trust, and happiness are what life means.

Little one, resting on soft clouds of sleep,
A choir of angels singing songs of love,
Thoughts of purity and innocence you keep,
Filled with divine light from above.

Little one, rest safely through the night,
As your dreams carry you across the miles,
Into the bright warmth of the breaking daylight,
For the hope of our future is in your smile.

Guys,
This is just something that spilled out of me tonight.  I have spent the last few days with my best friend's two daughters -  Robin is 15 and Tamara is 5.  The were home visiting their Dad for the 4th.  I can't believe that they are going back home to their Mom's tomorrow, because the days passed so quickly.  I have no children of my own yet, but there is nothing more precious in the entire world than the love of a child.  And being around Robin and Tamara for the last few days has made me believe that even more than ever.

Love you guys!

TerryW~
What a sweetheart you are -
may you someday know the immense joy of a smile that a 'little angel' of your own will bring you over and over again.
*Hugs* my friend for your tenderness.

Janet Marie~
Thank you so much for your kind words, dear friend.  I always feel better when I hear from you!

Marge~
My dear, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I do so hope that I will have a little angel of my own some day.  You know, that is the only fight that my Ex-wife and I ever had.  I have always wanted children, and she never told me until after we were married that she didn't.  I don't know, I have been thinking a lot about her lately.  When I was married, I was the happiest man on earth.  I tried to do anything I could think of to make her happy.  I thought that everything was wonderful, and one day, she woke up, got out of bed, and said "I'm going home to Mom's.  I am sorry, I just don't want to be married any more."  It took me a long time to get over that, and I went through agony trying to figure out what I did wrong.  I mean, I cooked, I cleaned, I paid all the bills, and I did it all because I WANTED TO.  Not too long ago, a friend told me that she said she had no doubt that I was the greatest guy who ever walked the earth, but she just figured out a little too late that I wasn't exactly what she wanted.  I haven't figured that one out yet.  But anyway, I am sorry that I started rambling, but it all just started coming out.  I try not to let that happen too often. Thank you for the wonderful words.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate your friendship or what you mean to me!

Love Ya~

As a dad I have to admit that it is the most awesome feeling a man could have.  I truely hope that someday you are blessed with this dream.  Your sentiment deems you much worthy of this wonderful challenge in life.

Rindercella~
No castle, dear, just a little three bedroom brick house that sometimes feels a little bit too big and lonely.

Mark~
Thank you for the confidence in me.  I hope that I do have the chance, too.  I may not be the greatest at it, but I will give it all I've got.< !signature-->

Children are such a beautiful gift...and a big responsability...mine are grown now, but they are still my babies.  This is a lovely poem, Terry...from a sweet heart.  I hope someday your yearning becomes a reality.

~Terry~

As a student studying to be a teacher, I absolutely love this poem, I have always loved children. This is beautifully written, you have a lovely heart writing of the beauties of children.  Isn't it amazing how their smiles can light up the room.  This is one of your best, I am really starting to enjoy every poem you write, each poem is exceptionaly written and I look forward to more by you. You are a true man! And, I sincerely hope that you find the right woman and have children of your own someday, you deserve it, and your children would be lucky to have a caring dad like you

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee

Terry*
Such beautiful sentiments, when you have
angels of your own.....and you will..... you
will definately make a first class dad!  I
know how it feels to think that it will never
come....but it will and it will make the wait
worth every moment when it does. Take care!

My son just turned a year old. And all the promise he holds, the treasure that he is to me. You have dictated this in your poem.
I have since printed it out and framed it for his room. I hope you don't mind.
Thank you...

Terry this is wonderful!!!
I can certainly relate here.  I have been taking care of my four nephews for a week now and one more to go! The twins are 14, next is 13 and the youngest is 10.  They have driven me crazy at times and yet they know I won't trade one minute of it!  I too have no children of my own, so they are my pride and joy.
