Face Reconstructed

Someone must know this face
Though scarred by passing years,
Unearthed by simple erosion,
Where Jane Doe came to rest.

She was once someone’s child,
This face flashed on the screen,
Reformed by modern means -
The cause of death unknown.

Her skull was used as a model
Clay was used to form her skin
Plexiglas blue eyes affixed
Brown hair adhered with glue.

It was about ten years ago,
When Jane Doe’s death occurred,
She was found near a river
On a hill of melting snow.

Someone must recognize
This face reconstructed,
To solve this sad mystery
To place a name upon her stone.

It’s cold in this cemetery,
Most of the year round,
Somehow it feels more so
Not knowing Jane Doe.

Corinne~
I've seen the stories of the Jane Doe's and felt deeply for the muteness of their voices.
How tenderly you've written of them ... it's sad that there are so many.

We should all be shaken to the core to realize that perhaps it could be someone we have known.

Modern technology is awesome in the study of the forensic restructing process.
Thanks again for sharing a subject that leaves me pondering.

wow Corinne, a chilling poem yet written with such tenderness. wonderfully penned.

You wrote a beautiful tribute for the Jane Doe's of this world.  I can't imagine anyone being buried...alone, nameless without any family or friends, it's a great tragedy and leaves me wondering.  Thanks for sharing this!

Take care,

Thank you, Marge, I saw the latest jane doe in our area on the news today, left me wondering about her and feeling sad.

Thank you, Brian and Daniel.

Thank you, Melissa, it's hard to fathom some things in this world, isn't it?

Well written and very sad, we have a young girl missing in our area since Saturday abducted at eight years old, her parents appeal on the news everyday but I  think there is no hope, I'm very angry to live in a world where children can't enjoy childhood anymore.

thanks for sharing

regards
