Summer Solstice - Florida Style
~*Marge Tindal*~

Lying naked in the hot summer sun
Skin well-oiled
Temperature boiled

Beads of perspiration gleaming
I fret
Nothing to do but sweat

Lazy, hazy days
soaking up the rays

The heat rises
I turn
before I burn

With sun screen caked
too late
I'm baked

This is for real
now I peel

New skin
Begin again

Some lessons
are never learned
No matter how many times
you're burned

This reminded me of the time I got burnt in Florida after just 10 minutes in the sun...it wasn't pleasant. Sometimes we just never learn until it's too late. Great poem, Marge!

We've got school and private investigators here ya' know.
Glad you enjoyed the 'spice'.

Lil' Lizzie~
Glad to see your bright smile this morning.
Darn it - wish you'd come back to Disney World - it's just 20 miles from my backyard.
I can sit on my porch and watch the fireworks !

Kit~
I'm always glad to know you enjoy.

~Marge,...this poem is so true about never learning, and new skin, begin again. Haha. Can't count the number of times I've been burnt to the point where I've ruined my vaca. for a day or two.  Yowsers!!!  Great job. *Peace.
