Amber waves of grain still sway, Planted with seed from deep within. Offered with love to the home of the brave, Even for those who would still her pen. Timeless imagery for a proud nation still healing, Soothing our wounds extolling our brotherhood. Sown upon people of great courage, revealing Our foundation was sound our nation still stood Unless we lose sight of all that she said, Long ago words will serve us in good stead. Angel and I had spoken of collaborating on an acrostic poem. I was intrigued by the idea of an acrostic poem based on A POETS SOUL, based on a famous patriotic poem expounding freeedom, which is itself expounding freedom's virtues, while staying true to the acrostic theme. Whew! That was a mouthful. Anyway it was great fun working on it with an Aussie! Thanks for the input Dark Angel. < !signature--> Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito. - Virgil. Very nice even though I have no clue what acrostic means. It makes me think of a book I once read about a girl in the Revolutionary War.... "I'm sorry for telling u love was unnecessary... making u lose ur way. I'm sure I'll be as sad as u feel." ~Touch and Go |

AniKay, Thanks for the kind words. FYI-- Acrostic is a poem or series of lines in which certain letters, usually the first in each line, form a name, motto, or message when read in sequence. If you will read down the first letters in each sentence you will see that it spells out A POETS SOUL. |

Hey thanks thats pretty neat I think I might try that. See, I knew I liked this place. Only been here for two days and I already learned something! "I'm sorry for telling u love was unnecessary... making u lose ur way. I'm sure I'll be as sad as u feel." ~Touch and Go |

Sweet Jamie My imput was just a small part to this beautiful poem you have penned my friend. I'll say it again, it has been my pleasure to work with you dear one and look forward to more wonderful experiences as this. *hugs* Maree Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive, my body goes on, my spirit has died, and I though alive, feel dead inside.
