Don’t Even Bother It’s useless to try It’ll only make me cry Nothing you say or do Will make anything new For you will never understand What it is that makes me like this What it is that turns me inside-out What it is that confuses you beyond a doubt Please don’t try to understand Don’t make me explain You won’t, you can’t It’ll only cause pain Some of you think I’ll die Outside and in But none of you understand My need to be thin I guess my topic is pretty self-explanitory. I wasn't directing this poem at any one person. Please reply, feel free to say whatever you want about it. Thanks! Bel |

I too can relate to this. It's kind of sad how many ppl can relate to this sort of stuff, but at least you know u'r not alone. Welcome to Passions!  Impressive first post.  Oh my dear Isabel~ I'm very sorry to hear this! I hope you are doing something to get help. I can truly relate from the bottom of my heart. I was anorexic and in a matter of 4 months lost over 25 pounds. I just stopped eating all together. I'm not exactly sure as to how you go about achieving your "need to be thin" but I can tell you there are safer ways! I'm 15 and I weigh 102 lbs. I've gained my weight back but it was difficult. My dear, this is such a cynical world and the mixed messages are so confusing! I want you to know that I AM HERE FOR YOU!! If you need to talk, you can e-mail me. I'd be glad to talk. You can get through this. You don't need to resort to this kind of behavior. I'm sure you are a beautiful person and this is the last thing you need. Please do not hesitate to talk to me. Welcome to Passions. first, let me just say i liked you name. it's what attracted me to read the poem. very cool handle. you poem was well composed, and it deals with a topic most gals would never fess up to. it is a most sad subject matter, but a frightening reality for some. people like this should only be concerned with one kind of acceptance. self-acceptance. good read and good emotion. thanks for postin it up. i'll look for more of your work. enjoy your stay here. We all got somethin' we need to atone for. |

dear isabel, this is quite a heavy topic and your poem rings true for me, i do not understand and would not no matter how hard you tried to explain... i, for one, have always prefered heavier girls... i wish i could say more, but i can only leave you with my prayers and hope that you will get whatever help you may need... sincerely, a sad tomato you're such a beautiful freak... i wish there were more just like you... |

Isabel, i initially thought this was going to be yet another poem about lost unrequited love and was surprised at the ending...Poetically speaking, i was thrilled at your ending cos it seemed sort of jarring and jumped right up at this reader and was totally unexpected im sorry you are going through this tough time...the social climate dictates girls to be wafer-thin and have caused them misery as they try to slim and slim....remember that its only the inner beauty that counts at the end of the day(phyiscal beauty ultimately fades away)....remember people like Kate Winslet who are not exactly slim but who are self-confident and refuse to conform...i too hope you will reach that stage  nice poem here and i do hope to read more of your work |
