I wrote this last night b/c I was bored. Lol.  I hope you understand the title...it makes sense to me, but my way of thinking is a little unconventional, so if you don't get it or if you have something better, tell me
Anyhoo, I hope in reading this that you guys get to know who I am a little better.  And if you can think of any lines you would like to add that fit the poem, tell me and maybe I'll add them on...kinda an interactive poem heh?
PS - The lines with stars by them I would like to dedicate to all the writers who I have found to be a source of personal inspiration here at Passions...you know who you are.

               The "WHY" of Me

-I write because all other forms of artistic expression fail me.
-I sing because the words would be meaningless without musical accompaniment.
-I play the piano because my hands communicate more accurately than my mouth.
-I win because I do not know how to fail.
-I question because ignorance is an open invitation to fear and prejudice and hate.
-I know because I asked.
-I persist because I don't know when to quit.
-I laugh because my foolish pride hastily holds my tears captive.
-I cry because my heart is overflowing.
-I smile because I've seen a beauty in the simplest of things that not even the cruel hand of a human form can take away from me.
-I frown because you don't see what I see, and to me that is a great unfairness.
-I yearn because my path would end without an incentive to pave the way.
-I love because you've opened up something within me and moved my soul, whether or not I wanted you to.
-I dream because the harshness of reality would soon engulf my free-flying spirit if I did not, which is a sad but true thing if you think about it for too long.  So I choose not to.
-I pray because I believe the answers lie in something greater than myself.
-I believe because they've failed to give me a reason not to.
-I have faith because it is loyal when all else has gone awry.
-I am happy because I have no reason to be sad.
*-I admire because I've seen in you something that I would like to possess.
*-I inspire because I've somehow managed to touch others the way my inspiration has touched me.
*-I blush because I am too insecure to admit to myself that there is something beautiful in me that I've allowed you to see.
-I look because I don't know what I'll find.
-I listen because the value of another person's thoughts is something I can't afford to waste.
-I strive because I seek to obtain perfection.
-I laugh at myself because there is no such thing as perfection.
-I live because my soul is dying to be alive.
-I will die only if I've failed to truly live.
-I will say nothing more because there is nothing and everything left to say.

Kris,
This is so very beautiful, I don't think words can describe how much I love it!   You have some very good reasons for doing the things you do, and I'm glad that you decided to share this piece with us.   You have true talent, and I only hope that one day I can write as amazingly as you.  Every time I read something of yours it just inspires me. You go girl!!!  Don't ever stop writing.

dear kandi,
this is, indeed, quite good... introvertedly insightful and interestingly formatted... i particularly like the line about admiration... simplistically defined, yet so deep in meaning...

sincerely,
